There were approximately 4,000 guests inside Water World when the evacuation began.
Park employees used the public address system to direct visitors out of the property. Officials said the evacuation was completed in approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Parents and guardians who had children separated from them during the evacuation were directed to a reunification area at Camenisch Park. Water World employees were sent to a separate pickup location.

The park asked visitors to bring their July 11 ticket when available. Guests were grouped according to where their belongings had been left and were escorted by employees to retrieve them.
Water World also provided options for guests whose July 11 visit was interrupted. Visitors with certain day tickets were told they could present those tickets for admission on another day during the season.
